QuickTime Now Presents Full Screen Movies
Apple's latest update for QuickTime (7.2) is a minor update in most ways, except that Full Screen mode is now enabled. If you are new to the Mac, you might have not noticed this glaring deficiency. In the previous versions, when you looked in the View menu, Full Screen was grayed out with the Pro symbol next to it. In other words, this basic feature cost $30 in QuickTime Pro.
As John Gruber at Daring Fireball hit the nail on the head: "That previous versions didn’t was arguably the biggest nickel-and-dime move in Apple history." If you don't upgrade right away, the work around is to put your movie in the Movies folder, then use Front Row to play it. Another way to go is to download VLC player.
From Apple's website:

- Support for full screen viewing in QuickTime Player
- Updates to the H.264 codec
- Numerous bug fixes
This release is recommended for all QuickTime 7 users.

You did read the article, right? It states that with the latest upgrade you no longer need to purchase Quicktime Pro in order to get full screen.
