Juan G - Venezuelan Tech-Consultant
Hi my name is Juan, I’m from Venezuela and I’m writing from the second Mac I’ve owned. This is an iMac 24” Intel Core 2 Duo with 2GB of RAM and everything else are just standard features of this model. The first Mac I bought was an iBook clamshell from 1998 that I actually got in 2004. Many people thought that was a crazy purchase at the time but somehow I knew I wouldn’t regret it (and I didn’t).
I sold that beautiful machine later because I needed the money and I regret it every single day. Anyway, the new owner sent me a picture of my little girl working and helping this guy making a living (he is a DJ and worked with my little iBook for quite a while), so I was happy and proud at the same time.
Right now I do a little of everything on my iMac and I couldn’t be happier with it. I’m a Tech-Consultant for an oil company here in Venezuela and I work from home. The rest of the time I’m a web developer for my own company, and on my free time I do several things; most of them related to the iMac (watch movies and all kind of DVDs, surf the web, read news, play games, etc).
I spend several hours sitting in front of my computer and I can’t get tired of it, it’s really beautiful and I haven’t felt this before with any other machine I’ve had. I was mostly a PC user since the beginning but I always felt somehow incomplete, I spent as much money as I could but never had a machine that could do everything I wanted and made me feel up to date and happy as the demanding user I am.
Now it’s been a year since I bought this iMac and I don’t even worry about re-installing the system (Mac OS X – Tiger 10.4.10) because it runs smoothly everyday; even when I spend 10 days o so without restarting it. I’ve also made some of my friends turn their heads to Apple as an option and none of them has something to complain about, they’re just as pleased and excited with their Macs as me when I first got one.

I recommend everyone who hasn’t tried a Mac to feel one, don’t fear the experience because you’ll love it and never look back again. They even run Windows now, so there’s no excuse!!! I use Windows sometimes when I need to run specific software and it runs smoothly too. I can’t help it with the eventual blue screen but I can’t deny it’s the best of both worlds.
Best of luck for everyone!
